SAFEzone. everything is simpler, everything is safer.

With SafeZone, FAAC identifies systems that can assist the functions of automation in accordance with the requirements of the European Directive currently in force (MD 2006/42/EC) safety.

SafeZone are FAAC systems, that can be either hydraulic or electromechanical with supply voltage at 230VAC or 24VDC. Through the use of new electronic control boards and devices, such as the new absolute encoder SAFEcoder (Patent FAAC) they allow, a higher degree of safety and reliability to be achieved not only with new installations but also the retrofit of FAAC systems already installed, without the need to replace the operators.

• SAFEcoder: the heart of safety • The new absolute encoder SAFEcoder, ensures complete control of the movement and the reversal on obstacle detection, and presents the following advantages: • Can be installed on all the FAAC automation for swing gates, hydraulic and electromechanical, 230VAC and 24 VDC; • Is easy to apply on automation already installed, without having to modify the attachments and installation dimensions; • Automatically finds with extreme precision the deceleration points and stop without the need of electrical limit switches; • Allows you to prevent the automated push against the stop, thereby increasing the frequency of use and the life, and avoiding the waste of energy; • Gives the possibility of eliminating the mechanical stops, manually setting stop points, even for partial openings; • After a power failure, the absolute encoder remembers the position of where the gate has stopped, preventing malfunctions.

GREENTECH: the most natural choice for energy saving.

With GREENTECH, FAAC identifies systems for the automation of gates with a combination of the latest generation control boards, and mechanical devices or patented technological innovations that allow the reduction of the energy consumption of automation systems such as: • Switching power supply with low energy consumption instead of traditional laminated or toroidal transformers. • Efficient mechanical reduction systems (CYCLO - Patent FAAC ) for automatic sliding gates (mechanical efficiency of 80% = more than twice the conventional reductions); • System optimization of opening and closing (Energy Saving) in walkways (automatic doors); • Control cards with the possibility of enabling states of stand-by mode to reduce power consumption when the automation is not in operation; • SAFEcoder absolute encoder (FAAC patented) to reduce the time of actual work. The goal is a better environment and a tangible benefit for the end user, due to the reduction in the estimated energy costs required by the automation system. All this is achieved without sacrificing the high performance levels of FAAC automation.

Product Features

• Compact, elegant design. Width - the crucial overall dimension - is as little as 185 mm! • Versatile, simple installation. The articulated arm allows high flexibility for the installation dimensions, enabling use also on large gate piers. • With the non-reversing gearmotor, there is no need to install electro-mechanical closing devices. In case of a power cut, the rotation of the (key protected) release device alone, makes it possible to move the gate manually. • The system has non reversing motors that hold the gates in the open and closed positions. • Built-in mechanical stops: no need to install opening and closing mechanical stops. • Electronic control unit with anti-crushing device and virtual encoder with reverse function upon detection of obstacle. • Emergency battery to ensure operation in case of powercut (optional). • Option to add BUS XIB interface for applications using NON BUS devices. • IMPORTANT: to ensure correct operation, make sure that the distance between the gate hinge and any walls or lateral fencing is greater than 725 mm.
